Lundi
3 avril 2023, l’Association Open Door a entraîné un petit groupe de ses
adhérents à la découverte
du vignoble des Gabies à Verneuil sur Vienne.
Nous
avons été accueillis par Marie Hélène DENIS qui a repris le flambeau de
l’exploitation familiale en 2016. Vigneronne indépendante et engagée (elle
pratique l’agroforesterie), elle œuvre avec passion sur 6,5 hectares de vignes
au rythme des saisons.
Elle
est en conversion Bio depuis l’été 2019. Elle produit du blanc, du rosé, du
rouge et un pétillant rosé méthode champenoise. Les cépages plantés sur le
domaine sont le Pinot noir, le Gamay et le Chardonnay.
Elle a répondu aux nombreuses questions de
chacun avec beaucoup de précisions sur sa conception du fonctionnement d’une
exploitation viticole.
Nous
avons ensuite déjeuné au Saint Plébon à
Verneuil.
Chaque
année Marie Hélène DENIS organise une journée festive de vendanges manuelles de
Chardonnay.

On
Monday 3 April 2023, the Association Open Door took a small group of its
members on a tour
of the vineyards of the Domaine des Gabies in Verneuil sur Vienne.
We
were welcomed by Marie Hélène DENIS who took over the family business in 2016. Anindependent
and committed winemaker (she practices agroforestry), she works with passion on
6.5 hectares of vines to the rhythm of the seasons.
She
is in organic conversion since summer 2019. She produces white, rosé, red and a
sparkling rosé méthode champenoise. The grape varieties
planted on the estate are Pinot noir, Gamay and Chardonnay.
She
answered everyone's many questions with a lot of detail about her
conception of how a wine estate works.
We
then had lunch at the Saint Plébon
in Verneuil.
Every
year Marie Hélène DENIS organises a festive day of manual harvesting of
Chardonnay.
